ceremony

we are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest commitments, to recognize the worth and beauty of this couple's love for and joy in each other, and to add our best wishes and support to the union in marriage of lyn dupré and charles clinton harris.

should there be any present who have cause why this couple should not be united in marriage, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.

charles, do you take lyn to be your wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, for richer or for poorer? do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect her, forsaking all others and holding unto only her forevermore?

[charles: i do.]

lyn, do you take charles to be your husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, for richer or for poorer? do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect him, forsaking all others and holding unto only him forevermore?

[lyn: i do.]

please bring the rings.

lyn and charles, you exchange these rings as symbols that demonstrate your love for each other, so that each of you may carry with you the other's love at all times, even when you are separated by circumstance.

[lyn and charles exchange rings]

lyn and charles, as the two of you come into this marriage that unites you forever as wife and husband, and as you this day affirm your faith in and love for each other, i ask that you always remember to cherish each other as special and unique individuals; that you respect the thoughts, ideas, preferences, and suggestions of each other; and that you strive always to understand each other. be quick to forgive, do not hold grudges, and live each day that you may share it together ' as from this day forward, you shall be each other's home, comfort, and refuge, your marriage strengthened by your love and respect.

lyn and charles, the two of you have agreed to marry each other and have made your vows on this day. by the power that you have vested in me, i now pronounce you wife and husband.

you may kiss each other.
